The very talented Katherine Thorsey was in the studio finishing a song about a month ago when, at the tail end of our session, she asked if I would help her write a song for her boyfriend's birthday. Unaccustomed to writing un-tortured love songs it took me a minute to find the emotionally available part of my brain that is required for this kind of lyric.
Short on time, we only wrote a few verses but those verses played in my head for days. I called Katherine and told her we had to finish the song. We did. Here is my version, Katherine's is coming soon...
The great Nate Brown from Everything played drums and percussion.
Buddy Speir from The Blackjacks co-produced, played guitar and arranged the strings.
Ethan Mentzer from The Click Five sang harmonies.
