This song was inspired after a conversation I had with a friend about insecurity and how debilitating it can be. Every day when my daughter goes to school I freak a little (if not a lot) that some kid is putting her down or making her believe something untrue about herself. The world is particularly hard on girls and they are forced from an early age to endure unnecessary, unfair and unrealistic standards. This song is for the insecure girls.
I am personally at fault for contributing to some of that insecurity and, now that I have beautiful (and perfect) daughter, I am well aware of what a big stupid boy I was for a good part of my life. So to every girl reading this I promise I will personally punch whoever makes (or has made) you feel less than who you are....even if I have to punch myself.
Bryan Dawley played guitar and bass and had fantastic hair in the process.
Jen Smith played some beautiful cello.
Scott Smith engineered and co-arranged the strings with Jen.
Mark Williams engineered drums
Micah Wilshire mixed.
