You Better Not Leave ( 9/30/09 )
This was an unfinished idea I wrote with GetawayCar guitarist Matt Miceli. This past weekend TGC drummer Dan Garvin stopped in while visiting from Cincinnati and played drums on it. So in a way, it's somewhat of a TGC reunion.
You Better Not Leave is a love song maybe. Maybe not. To me it's about finally getting yourself together and then asking the people who put up with you to please continue to do so. Children make you aware of how selfish you were the first third of your life. This song was written post my own realization. Perhaps it's a thank you to the folks who stuck around through my twenties or maybe it's about my daughter. You decide.
